Mr High Rock,... what size hound do you typically produce in your program?

Fine lookin dog in your avatar!

When you line breed you loose size. I breed for big but average 12.5 -14 at best but lean toward 13 and under. I've been keeping the biggest for my self over the years to help .

Ever heard of chuck bankston in Monroe,la he has the finest weir creek bloodline, he had a hall of fame dog name chucks willy we bought a pup from him years ago and we named him josh's lucky spin this was pre 1996 that beagle was 100% weir creek and just out of boredom and fun we took him to a state trail and he won, so we decided to take him to a few more in less than 10 months he had won 1st place 9 times and was made grand champion in the next 3 months but mainly he was a great hunting dog could have killed 100's of rabbits in front of him but he was just fun to watch and listen to. we had the privlage of having over 4,000 acres behide my daddy's house to run rabbits and hunted all over south Alabama in prime deer country where rabbits were and he never ran nothing but a rabbit, the only dog I ever owned that never wore a shock collar, but my daddy was hurt in a mining accident and I haven't hunted since but I would like to get me another beagle or two and would love them to be weir creek they are a great med to fast speed dog, what I call gun dog speed but as you stated has enough sense to run to there environment and the weather condition and terrain, my opinion the best bloodline available to hunt rabbit so if you know anyone with a 100% weir creek bloodline id love to buy a male puppy only after seeing there mom and dad run a rabbit
I've seen and judged James Willie AKC name of Chucks ARHA Little Willie. He was a 3/4 Weir Creek bred. Ran more like a little pack style dog, would cut and swing to get the front . Had the Weir Creek hunt and good nose. I had a son back years ago that was Top Knotch but I was running a Little pack style dog years ago. I still have that blood but not in large dosage.A lot of my Boggy Holler goes back to William Webster stock.I heard several years ago that William got down in the back and about all Quit breeding them. Chuck Bankston contacted me about three years ago looking don't know how he made out. I didn't have anything for him at that time.

Jr. Woods has a bad little dude at his house. Male dog. He is small but you might want to go take a look. His pups hunt like little monsters. If you rabbit hunt you know the kind of hunt I'm talking about. They are tuff as a pine knot.

Mitch
